Cette année, la Summer School 2017 aura lieu à Lausanne en 2017 du 21 au 25 août 2017. Elle a pour titre: "Designing a Mixed Methods Project: An Interactive-Participatory Workshop"
Mixed methods research is a methodology for conducting research that involves collecting, analyzing, and integrating (or mixing) quantitative and qualitative research (and data) in a single study or a longitudinal program of inquiry. The purpose of this form of research is that both qualitative and quantitative research, in combination, provide a better understanding of a research problem or issue than either research approach alone.
Mixed methods research is often referred to as the third methodological movement and has witnessed a rapid rise in popularity in the last 20 years. It has also now developed its own philosophical, theoretical, methodological, analytical and practical foundations and constructs.
The 2017 Spine Summer School will be conducted interactively and provide participants with the opportunity to attain an advanced level of knowledge on the development and conduct of a mixed methods project. The program includes the presentation and discussion of different data collection techniques, management of data as well as analysis, integration and dissemination of the results. The summer school offers PhD students in nursing science as well as other stakeholders of research in the medical field the opportunity to learn how to integrate a mixed methods approach from highly regarded professionals in the domain.
The course will be taught in English
