Business academics share many similarities no matter where they work, but differences exist. One key area of difference relates to the academic job market which is often geographically unique and influenced by local demands. One of the largest markets for business academics exists in North America; this market is often not well understood by those without direct experience in it. The overall goal of this seminar is to provide participants a deeper understanding of this market. In particular, we: 1) illustrate characteristics of North American academic business positions; 2) explore motives for considering career opportunities abroad; and 3) provide an overview of the North American job market including job search and interview processes.
