Interpersonal loss, either because of the death of the partner or for other causes (e.g. separation, conflict, move) can significantly affect the health and well-being of the affected person.
As this kind of event can impact a large number of individuals, a preventive intervention that can reach many people appears as ideal to help people struggling with interpersonal loss. Thus, we aim to develop a user-friendly online unguided intervention in French. To do so, we will submit a grant proposal at the SNSF.
The theoretical framework and design of the project will be presented. More specifically, the research project aims to further develop an online intervention program that was developed at the University of Bern within the NCCR-LIVES, by making three major modifications. First, we aim to include positive psychological and psychotherapeutical aspects in the intervention modules. Second, we plan to automatically adapt some aspects of the intervention by developing evidence- and/or theory-based clinical algorithms. Additionally, we intend to render the content more user-friendly and interactive, by including additional optional information, making psycho-educational videos, and developing the design of the website.
The aim this presentation is to get the peoples thoughts, inputs and feedback on the project (theory, design, feasibility, necessary budget, argumentation for the SNF, etc).
