Abstract: My laboratory studies the molecular mechanisms that facilitate dynamic adaptations in GABAergic neurotransmission, and its implications for neural circuit function, using both primary neuron culture and mouse models. Our studies of primary neuron culture recently culminated in identifying novel cellular pathways that modulate inhibition to influence neuronal networks in vivo. We have developed new mouse models to understand GABAergic basis of neuropsychiatric and neurodevelopmental disorders.
