In this talk we will present CADMOS, a joint effort between the universities of Geneva and Lausanne and the EPFL
The University has recently put efforts into supporting scientific computing. This involves hardware such as Octopus or Achilles which some of you may know (more info at http://wp.unil.ch/geocomputing/), but also support for the implementation of scientific code for high-performance computing and big data analysis. This is done via the CADMOS project,
In this talk we will present CADMOS, a joint effort between the universities of Geneva and Lausanne and the EPFL, which main objective is to provide support towards computational science and High Performance Computing (HPC). More specifically we will concentrate on the various directions UNIL users can benefit from CADMOS, such as code optimization, code parallelization, development of GPU-based codes, development/optimization of data processing pipelines, big data analysis and machine learning.
Furthermore, we will present the current HPC resources available from Vital-IT, EPFL and CSCS and outline briefly the possible solutions for HPC at UNIL. As such we would be very interested in hearing what are the people’s needs and wishes within the geoscience community.
