The biannual Emile Argand Conference on Alpine Geological Studies is organized by European universities, with the support of the European Geosciences Union. The main purpose of this meeting is to organize oral and poster presentations, favoring exchanges between all members of the Earth Sciences community.
All aspects relevant to the past history and present dynamics of the Alpine belt are covered by the meeting. In addition, field excursions are organized before and after the meeting. Therefore, this meeting is a unique occasion for researchers from different disciplines (tectonics and structural geology, petrology and geochemistry, sedimentology and basin analysis, geophysics and geomorphology) to confront their methods and results.
