In the framework of the Course "International Economic Law" (LLM Programme in International Business Law) by taught by Professor Andreas R Ziegler, Dr Elena Cima, Lecturer at the University of Geneva will deliver a presentation on “International Trade and Investment Law and Green Industrial Policy". Everybody is welcome.
Elena Cima is currently Research and Teaching Fellow at ISE-GEDT (UNIGE). She holds a PhD in international law from the Graduate Institute of International and Development Studies in Geneva, a Bachelor of Laws (LL.B) from the University of Milan, and an LL.M degree from Yale Law School.
Her PhD thesis analyses the way in which international law deals with the trade and environment nexus. It does so exploring how the relationship between international trade and environmental norms has evolved over time, from their origin up to the most recent developments in terms of treaty negotiations, dispute settlement, and soft law instruments, both at the international and regional level. Through this analysis, it further explores the reasons underlying such evolution as well as its relevance and impact.
