E4S is pleased to invite the researchers, PhD students and post-doctoral of its 3 partner institutions (UNIL-HEC, IMD, EPFL) to its next internal seminar! Through this Seminar Series, its academic community shares its research, brainstorms and identifies trends and challenges in different fields.
Redesigning the pharmaceutical R&D landscape for the post-COVID-19 economy: the case of neglected diseases
Diseases that primarily affect the developing world (such as malaria and other tropical diseases) have long received comparatively little R&D investment. Hosted by Annamaria Conti (UNIL-HEC), Patrick Gaulé (University of Bath) will present new insights on why such diseases are neglected and which gaps in the drug development pipeline could be targeted by policymakers. Tom Vogl (University of California, San Diego) will discuss the implications of the findings from a development economics perspective.
