Organised by the English Department with the support of the Centre de Traduction Littéraire (CTL), the study day Angela Carter Around the World: Translation and Reception will bring together renowned and emerging Carter scholars to shed light on the role of translation in Carter’s works and throughout her writing career, as well as to the reception of her fiction in other languages, with talks examining her works as translator and in translation in French, Swedish, Russian, and Chinese, as well as contributions exploring music as a modality of translation and reception in and of her fiction.
