Adapting our approach to clinical trial design: opportunities for the future
Clinical trials are the cornerstone of generating high-quality evidence to guide evidence-based practice. However, the traditional two-arm parallel trial has limitations that may be addressed through efficient, innovative designs that promote enhanced translation of findings. A number of alternative clinical trial designs will be discussed, as well as approaches to enhancing the methodologies of investigator-initiated clinical trials.
