The three-day workshop "Contested Transitions" brings together an international group of researchers to reconsider ongoing political, ethical, and cultural frictions and imaginaries around contemporary energy transitions, climate change, and resource politics. The anthropology of renewable energy transitions is still very much emergent; and broader questions remain about how to reorganize the wider anthropology of energy to meaningfully encompass research on existing carbon energies and the energy forms and regimes that seek to replace them. The workshop "Contested Transitions" is supported by the SNSF, LACS, and the Fondation pour l’UNIL.
