Responsive behavior is crucial to relationship quality and well-being across a variety of interpersonal domains.
In this talk I will share research from studies in which we investigate how responsiveness is conveyed nonverbally in the context of male friendships and in heterosexual romantic relationships, largely focusing on affectionate touch as a nonverbal signal of understanding, validation, and care.
