Conférencière : Madame Evgenija Velychko, conservatrice au Musée des Trésors d’Ukraine à Kiev
The conference is dedicated to the history of the formation of various Kyiv’s antique collections from the 19th century to nowadays. It will describe the artifacts trade in the beginning of the 20th century, the formation of the first antique collections in Ukraine and their fate after the Bolshevik coup in 1917. Changing principles of antiquities distribution after the Bolshevik revolution will also be covered. The Museum of the Historical Treasures of Ukraine was created as the result of this process, as will be shown on the example of the history of its collection formation.
