Context
The Lausanne Advanced Seminar in Political Ecology is an annual event on a specific theme, with the purpose of deepening participants' understanding of political ecological approaches to research. The event is co-sponsored with the doctoral school IGS North-South (collaboration UNIL, UniBe, UniBasel, UniZH). Previous themes have included tropical forests, political agronomy, feminist urban political ecology, and decolonizing geography.

For 2023, the theme is "Forests: pasts and futures". One day will be held in conjunction with the IDANE Wald+ meeting (an annual meeting of Swiss-based international forestry specialists in government agencies - DDC, OFEV/BAFU, Seco - and researchers from universities and more). The second day will be the doctoral workshop proper.

University of Natural Resources and Life Science, Vienna (BOKU)
