Water supply in the rural Arctic is particularly challenging due to the cold climate and distances between communities, leaving residents with low service levels compare to urban areas and lower latitudes. This disparity, however, is typically hidden in the national numbers of much larger nations. This study will give an overview of the situation in Greenlandic settlements, and of the main potential areas for intervention to preserve public health in the region. We will also reflect on how users' behaviours and practices should guide decision making on infrastructure development.
