John will discuss what charisma is and why it is a potent tool in persuading individuals to undertake a particular course of action. He will briefly discuss modern conceptualizations of charisma and the causal impact of charisma on outcomes, whether in informal settings, business settings, politics and experiment he recently communicated charismatically, to convince individuals to get vaccinated against COVID-19. Alix will explore the challenges of communication and leadership in tackling one of today's major public health issues-vaccine hesitancy-through the lens of the COVID-19 vaccination campaign. The talk will provide insights from both a Swiss and global perspective, highlighting strategies used to build trust, counter misinformation, and promote vaccine uptake.
